Asia 2001 embodied a deep, melodic, and spiritual form of Goa Trance – hypnotic, expansive, and highly narrative. They performed at major festivals, appeared on iconic compilations, and remain a cult reference in the psychedelic Goa trance scene.

Loren X / Martin Cooper    
The core producer of the project, Martin Cooper is known for his eclectic compositions, cosmic soundscapes, and acid-driven melodies typical of the Goa sound. He released under various names and brought Asia 2001 to international attention through his distinctive style and studio mastery.

Tajmahal    
A key figure in the French psytrance movement, Tajmahal played a vital role in shaping Asia 2001’s direction — blending acid trance energy with deeper psychedelic Goa textures. From 1995 to early 1998, he was the official DJ for both the group and the Trans’Pact label, helping bring the project to dancefloors worldwide.

Toires    
A multicultural musician and sound explorer, Toires added an ethnic trance dimension to the project. His contributions brought rich global influences and sonic depth. He later pursued a successful solo career in chill-out and ethno-electronica.

 Their collaboration represented a fusion of complementary artistic visions at a time when psychedelic trance was rising as both a cultural and spiritual movement.

“In beginning of 1998, the band split, and Martin Cooper continued the Asia 2001 project solo, further developing its sound and carrying the vision forward. After closing Trans’Pact Records, he began releasing new material through Avatar Records, continuing the evolution of the project on an international scale.”
