In 1987, Psara had the opportunity to share the stage at a trendy Lisbon club, “Van Gogo,” with the resident DJ, playing a selection of rock, new wave, and synthpop.

Afterward, she branched out into jazz, ethnic, and electroacoustic music.

She developed a deep interest in fine art, mysticism, and poetry.

In the early 1990s, Sara began practicing Tibetan Buddhist yoga and meditation.

This opened her up to devotional music.

In 1996, she joined the Goa Psychedelic Trance scene and performed at parties, festivals, and concert halls.

In 1998, she witnessed the emergence of Psytrance. But instead of following the trend away from spiritual vibrations, she plays less and forms a collective of experimental melodic percussion.

Until 2010, she primarily performed and produced acoustic music.

Between 2010 and 2011, social media connectivity sparked ’90s nostalgia and new opportunities for Goa.

With a virtually nonexistent scene, Psara teamed up with old friends and co-founded the ZNA Gathering Festival, which became an international symbol of the Psychedelic Goa Trance renaissance.

A resident DJ at ZNA, Psara began collaborating with Cronomi Records, working as the label’s DJ and later as its creative director.

Later that year, she was chosen to become Manmademan’s official DJ.

In 2014, she joined Suntrip Records, until they requested exclusivity.

Psara created the Al Sāmājo B4B party concept with three friends, playing ambient music at sunset in a trance on a headland in Estoril.

From 2015 to 2018, the Israeli label Zion 604 added her to its roster.

Celebrating her 30th anniversary as a DJ, she featured on a compilation series by Croatian label Spacedock Records, the “Goa Trance Legacy by DJ Psara,” featuring old and new unreleased psychedelic Goa Trance music.

Represented by international agencies from Asia to America, Psara has a musical presence on three continents.
